Pemaquid Oyster Company
We started farming native American oysters Crassostrea virginica in 1986, and now have 12 acres of lease sites in the upper Damariscotta River in Damariscotta, Maine. We sell cocktail, select and jumbo oysters to restaurants, wholesalers and distributors in mid-coast Maine, and along the Atlantic Seaboard. We have an oyster festival the last Sunday in September to raise money for grants we award to benefit the river's ecology, marine education and the working waterfront.
